New Cobranded Food Pantry in Irving Aims to Feed Thousands of North Texas Families
North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), American Heart Association, and Medical City Healthcare have collaborated to unveil a cobranded container pantry at Uplift Infinity Preparatory in Irving. The pantry, located at 2200 W Royal Ln, aims to increase access to fresh produce for families facing hunger in the region.
The container pantry, with a capacity to hold around 3,000 pounds of food, can provide up to 360,000 nutritious meals annually if operated three days a week. This initiative addresses the pressing issue of food insecurity in North Texas, where 1 in 6 residents and 1 in 5 children struggle with hunger.
The partnership between NTFB, American Heart Association, and Medical City Healthcare has been supported by the HCA Healthcare Foundation. Uplift Education, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has also played a significant role. Since partnering with NTFB in 2023, Uplift Infinity has provided over 115,000 meals to families and students. The sponsorship provided $50,000, enabling the placement of the branded container pantry and a produce pod in McKinney.
The newly cobranded container pantry not only meets the immediate food needs of families but also stands ready to provide readily accessible support during times of crisis, such as the recent government shutdown. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of all parties involved to fight hunger and improve the health and well-being of North Texas communities.
