New Digital Hub Unites Autism Research and Caregivers in Real Time
A new digital platform is set to transform how autism care is shared and improved. The Autism Knowledge Gateway (AKG) brings together research, technology, and real-time discussion to tackle long-standing gaps in communication. Developed by the Thought Leadership & Innovation Foundation (TLI), the platform is now open for anyone to explore, test, and contribute to its growth.
The AKG was created to solve two major challenges in autism care: fragmented communication and hard-to-access research. By combining AI tools with thousands of peer-reviewed studies on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related conditions, the platform makes critical information easier to find and use. It also introduces secure, interactive forums where healthcare professionals, researchers, parents, and caregivers can collaborate directly.
New community features include private discussion groups, the ability to comment on and follow research articles, and moderated Q&A sessions. Users can share clinical insights and connect with others working in the field. The goal is to turn isolated efforts into collective progress.
On March 27, 2026, the platform will be showcased at an event in Tysons Corner, Virginia. Held at the Tower Club, the gathering will include live demonstrations of the AKG's latest tools, expert-led panel discussions, and networking opportunities. TLI has invited professionals, researchers, caregivers, and advocates to attend and engage with the platform firsthand.
TLI, the not-for-profit behind the project, focuses on improving healthcare for individuals facing life-altering diagnoses. The foundation sees the AKG as a way to bridge gaps between research and real-world care, ensuring better outcomes for those with autism.
The Autism Knowledge Gateway is now accessible to all who want to explore its features or provide feedback. By enabling collaboration and centralising research, the platform aims to make autism care more effective and inclusive. The upcoming event in March 2026 will offer a closer look at how the AKG works and how it can be used to drive meaningful change.
