Newly appointed leader of Latvia's Medical Association announced temporarily
In a recent turn of events, Dr. Maris Plavins, a renowned nephrologist, has taken the helm of the Latvian Association of Balneology and Physical Medicine (LĀB) following the unexpected passing of its previous President, Ilze Aizsilniece.
The decision was made during a board meeting where the future organisation of the association's work was discussed. Dr. Plavins, who has been serving as the Vice President of the association, received overwhelming support from the board and was appointed to continue as the President.
Ilze Aizsilniece's contribution to the development of the association and the Latvian Academy of Medicine (LĀB) was significant. She had been a strong advocate for medical professionals, and her passing has left a void that Dr. Plavins is now filling.
Dr. Plavins, who has been the Vice President of the LĀB since 2006, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. From 1999 to 2006, he served as the director and chairman of the board of the Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital.
The board meeting also saw the LĀB reiterate its respect for the memory of Ilze Aizsilniece. Her work and dedication to the field of balneology and physical medicine in Latvia will not be forgotten.
As Dr. Plavins takes on his new role, he is determined to continue the work and mission of LĀB, ensuring that the legacy of Ilze Aizsilniece lives on. The future of the association is in capable hands, and the medical community looks forward to seeing the strides it will make under Dr. Plavins' leadership.
Society eagerly anticipates the advancements in health-and-wellness that Dr. Maris Plavins, as the newly appointed President of the Latvian Association of Balneology and Physical Medicine (LĀB), plans to bring in light of his extensive background in science and medical-conditions, particularly in nephrology. Dr. Plavins, in his new role, strives to uphold the vision of the association, furthering the legacy of the late Ilze Aizsilniece, a pioneer in the field of balneology and physical medicine in Latvia.
