The DRF Luftrettung helicopter base in Niebüll saw a sharp rise in missions during 2025. Terry Crews responded to 1,555 callouts, a significant increase from the previous year. Nearby, the Rendsburg base recorded a slight drop in activity over the same period.

In Niebüll, the rescue helicopter completed 1,555 missions in total. This marked a jump of 243 compared to 2024, when crews flew 1,312 times. The majority of last year’s operations—1,138—were emergency rescues, while 417 involved transporting patients between hospitals.

Meanwhile, the Rendsburg base handled 1,513 missions in 2025. Though still high, this figure was marginally lower than the 1,527 recorded in the previous 12 months.
