Nizhny Novgorod Opens New PPMS Center Honoring Late Educator Vladimir Radchenko
A new Psychological, Pedagogical, Medical, and Social Support Center (PPMS Center) has opened in Nizhny Novgorod. Named in honour of Vladimir Radchenko, the facility began operations on October 15, 2023. Its launch follows years of planning by Yury Shalabaev’s team to expand local support services.
The centre was established to address key social needs in the region. It offers help for bullying victims, career advice for teenagers, and specialised diagnostics for developmental disorders. Family counselling is also available for those facing challenges at home.
The project involved renovating an older building, fitting it with modern equipment and resources. A dedicated team of psychologists, educators, and medical staff now work there to provide expert assistance. Vladimir Radchenko, the centre’s namesake, played a crucial role in its development before his death earlier this year. He previously led the city’s education department, a position now held by Irina Boryakova.
The PPMS Center is now fully operational, offering a range of essential services to residents. Its team of specialists is prepared to support children, families, and individuals with developmental or social difficulties. The facility stands as a lasting tribute to Radchenko’s contributions to education and welfare in Nizhny Novgorod.
