Nordhorn's New Youth Programme Blends Fitness, Nutrition and Digital Savvy
Nordhorn's youth centre is rolling out a new programme for teenagers and young adults. Called GRInD – Upgrade 4 Body & Mind, the project targets 14- to 21-year-olds with a mix of fitness, nutrition, and digital literacy. Personal trainer Patrick Kaminsky of PK Coaching leads the initiative, which kicks off with an information session on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM. At the heart of the project is a weekly 30-minute fitness circuit, customised to each participant's needs. The sessions focus on teaching how exercise can cut stress, boost concentration, and fix posture issues like 'tech neck'. Beyond physical training, the programme promises practical knowledge about the body and 'bio-hacking' for better health.
Workshops on 'performance food' will be run by QuEr Vital, Nordhorn's nutritional counselling service. Another key feature is a deep dive into social media's hidden workings. Dr. Luc Albrecht, a local expert, will break down influencer tactics and explain how algorithms shape online behaviour. The full project costs €25.00, with reduced fees for those holding a Nordhorn Pass or a *Bildung und Teilhabe* (BuT) card. Organisers aim to equip young people with skills for both physical and mental wellbeing in a digital world.
The first info session takes place at Nordhorn Youth Center on April 7. Participants will leave with tools to improve fitness, understand nutrition, and navigate social media more critically. Registration remains open until the start date, with discounted rates available for eligible cardholders.
