Norwegian Ski Star Kilde Eyes World Cup Return Despite Mental Health Challenges

Norwegian alpine skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde is working towards a comeback, aiming to return to the World Cup in Beaver Creek. Despite facing mental health challenges, including panic attacks, Kilde remains determined to conquer his road to recovery.

Kilde's journey has been challenging. In February 2023, he suffered severe injuries and sepsis following a heavy crash during training in Kitzbühel, Austria. Since then, even normal bodily reactions during rehabilitation have triggered panic attack symptoms. Kilde's fiancée, Mikaela Shiffrin, has been a steadfast support through these anxious moments. Despite concerns about lasting limitations in his shoulder, Kilde is focused on his return to the World Cup.

Kilde's determination is evident as he continues to work towards his comeback. Despite the challenges posed by his panic attacks and the lingering effects of his injuries, Kilde is pushing forward, with the support of his fiancée and the skiing community.
