In a commendable achievement, the Orthopedics department at Bad Hersfeld's hospital has once again been re-awarded as an EndoProsthetics Center (EPC) for joint replacement surgeries. This recognition underscores the department's consistent delivery of high-quality treatment and commitment to excellence in orthopedic care.

The re-certification process, which involves a thorough assessment of surgical quality, clinical outcomes, and process optimization, was successfully navigated by the medical team. The team, led by Chief Physician Dr. Philipp Dworschak, includes Dr. Rudolf Bendik (Section Leader), Ivan Jalba, Dr. Philipp, Yannik van den Eeden, Dr. Tobias Kellner, Volodymyr Khrin, and Olga Katz (Assistant Physicians).

The center's dedication to maintaining the highest standards was particularly praised for its comprehensive and high-quality digital documentation. The audit leadership also highlighted the consistently high number and quality of procedures at the center. Two new main operating rooms have been successfully established to cater to the growing demand for endoprosthetic surgeries.

Katja Bittner, CEO of Hersfeld Hospital, congratulated the orthopedics team on their successful re-certification, expressing her excitement about the future of orthopedic care in Bad Hersfeld. Bittner is looking forward to bundling the orthopedics expertise under one roof at the Seilerweg location by the end of the year.

The center remains stable and capable despite logistical and personnel challenges ahead of the upcoming move to the Hersfeld Hospital, scheduled for September 1, 2025.
