Over twenty thousand Sakuts have received medical assessment via mobile healthcare providers
In a significant stride towards improving healthcare accessibility in Yakutia's remote Arctic regions, the Republican Mobile Brigade Center has been actively serving over 20,000 residents this year. The Mobile Surgeon project, an expansion of the Center's services, has been instrumental in providing high-tech medical care to these hard-to-reach areas.
The Mobile Surgeon project, established two and a half years ago by the head of Yakutia, comprises teams of specialists including therapists, gynecologists, cardiologists, neurologists, and many more. Seven pediatric teams, 17 adult teams, four dental teams, and four psychiatric and narcological teams have been working diligently to offer comprehensive medical services.
The project has seen mobile brigades travel over 27,000 kilometres by car, 1,400 kilometres by river transport, and 45,200 kilometres by air, making seven intra-district flights. Last year, the mobile doctors' practice was extended to remote districts, covering 6,706 Yakutians in remote villages.
This year, doctors made 44 district trips and 32 trips to Arctic districts, examining 4,826 adults and 2,428 children. The work of the Republican Mobile Brigade Center is funded from the presidential national project "Long and Active Life".
The Mobile Surgeon project aims to further expand the possibilities of receiving high-tech medical care in the Arctic and remote settlements, potentially reducing the need for patients to travel long distances to urban hospitals and improving health outcomes.
