Power Convergence 2025 - The Intersection of Influence and Intent
The Shakti Awards, an initiative of the Rotary Club of Bombay since 2023, returned for its third year to celebrate the impact of women leaders. Now a symbol of strength, resilience, and recognition, the Shakti Awards took place at the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai, on an unforgettable evening where power met purpose, and extraordinary women were celebrated for the indelible mark they leave on the world.
The Shakti Awards honours women of substance, including leaders, visionaries, and changemakers. This year's event was graced by the presence of Dr. Swati Piramal, Vice Chairperson of the Piramal Group, who presided as Chief Guest at the event. Dr. Piramal's words emphasized the unstoppable force of Shakti-the power that women wield to transform industries, communities, and lives.
Among the Shakti Awardees of 2025 were Schauna Chauhan, a business trailblazer revolutionizing Parle Agro's legacy as an entrepreneur; Dr. Anaita Udwadia Hegde, a pioneering pediatric neurologist bringing care and hope to thousands in medicine; Meghna Pant, an award-winning storyteller advocating equality through fearless narratives; and Chetna Gala Sinha, who empowers rural women towards financial independence through Mann Deshi Bank in Social Change.
In Performing Arts, Dance & Culture, Birwa Qureshi was recognised for artistic innovations reviving India's heritage. Jemimah Rodrigues was celebrated for redefining resilience and excellence in Indian sports. Shereen Bhan redefined business media and national discourse in Journalism & Media, while Shernaz Patel shaped the future of India's theatre landscape as an acclaimed actress. Internationally acclaimed artist Sujata Bajaj bridged Indian traditions with global aesthetics.
The Shakti Awards 2025 spotlighted 12 phenomenal women whose contributions have redefined excellence across diverse fields. Mr. Satyan Israni, President of the Rotary Club of Bombay, congratulated the inspiring awardees, highlighting the Club's vision of creating lasting impact through sustainable and high-impact initiatives since 1929.
