Presidential Fitness Test Returned, Reinauguration of the President's Council on Sports, Health, and Nutrition by the organization identified as our name.

The White House has taken a significant step towards promoting youth fitness and healthy living with the signing of an Executive Order by President Donald J. Trump. The order aims to revive and modernize the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, and to reestablish the Presidential Fitness Test for American youth.

The Council, which will work in close partnership with athletes, coaches, sports teams, and schools nationwide, will be overseen by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The Council’s focus will not only be on promoting physical fitness but also on addressing the growing issues of obesity, declining youth fitness, and chronic diseases, which pose a threat to the country’s economy, military readiness, academic performance, and national morale.

The Council will also play a pivotal role in helping to restore tradition to college sports. In the next three years, the United States will host major sporting events such as the Ryder Cup, the President’s Cup, the FIFA World Cup, and the Olympic Games.

President Trump stated that this movement is about discipline, strength, and excellence. He emphasized the importance of physical fitness as vital to American youth's development and the country’s future, especially as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026. The Presidential Fitness Test aims to reestablish a gold standard for youth physical fitness across the United States, marking a return to the test program first established in 1956 and discontinued in 2012.

The revitalized President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition will create school-based programs that reward excellence in physical education, and will work towards reforming the broken transfer portal in college sports. The Council will also focus on keeping men out of women’s sports.

Vice President JD Vance, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and several American athletes, including Bryson DeChambeau, Annika Sörenstam, Lawrence Taylor, Harrison Butker, and Triple H, were present at the signing. The signing of the Executive Order took place in Washington, D.C.
