Proposal requested for a worker radiation safety directive from ionizing radiation risks by the Commission
Yesterday marked the groundbreaking of a significant renovation project in Pforzheim's city centre, with Mayor Peter Boch, Deputy Mayor Sibylle Schüssler, and representatives from the involved companies in attendance. The focus of the renovation is on Western Karl-Friedrich-Straße, where the work will take place between the market square and Leopoldstraße.
The renovation will be carried out in eight construction phases, with two teams moving in both directions on Western Karl-Friedrich-Straße, starting from Barefoot Street. The northern and southern sides of the street will each have a dedicated team working on them.
The goal of this construction work is to transform Western Karl-Friedrich-Straße into a pedestrian zone and to fundamentally upgrade the city centre. To encourage visitors to use the city centre despite the construction, WSP Director Oliver Reitz stated that they aim to offer targeted incentives.
One such incentive will be comprehensive construction site marketing and events that focus on or include the pedestrian zone renovation. These events will include a summer festival with construction site tours, children's activities, and musical entertainment.
Stadtwerke Pforzheim (SWP) will also contribute to the project by laying empty pipes for planned broadband expansion during the construction work.
The completion of the renovation is planned to be in time for the Christmas market and Christmas shopping. Moreover, residents of Pforzheim and the region will be able to participate in various actions and stay informed about the progress of the renovation.
Initially, the side streets branching off from Western Karl-Friedreich-Straße will not be part of the redesign but are to follow in the coming years. The search results do not currently contain information about who is leading the work on redesigning the pedestrian zone in Pforzheim.
At the groundbreaking, Roger Heidt, CEO of Stadtwerke Pforzheim (SWP), and Oliver Reitz, Director of Wirtschaft und Stadtmarketings Pforzheim (WSP), were present and expressed their enthusiasm for the project.
