Radio Hauraki is hosting a unique event, 'Day in Loo', on Wednesday 18 June at Eden Park. From 6am to 6pm, the changing sheds will be renamed 'the bowels of Eden Park' to raise awareness of bowel cancer. The event aims to support Bowel Cancer NZ, with all proceeds going to the charity. Nick Sautner, CEO of Eden Park, and Dai Henwood ONZM, a bowel cancer survivor, are among those backing the cause.
The 12-hour live broadcast, led by Jeremy Wells, will feature sports legends like Lance Hohaia and Stephen Kearney. Other well-known Kiwis, including comedians, will also participate. The event hopes to highlight the seriousness of bowel cancer, with eight Kiwis diagnosed daily. Todd Campbell, Radio Hauraki's Content Director, is eager to make the event a success for Bowel Cancer NZ.
