Tomsk University's Facility Begins Production of Key Electronics Cleaning Agent In a significant development for Russia's electronics industry, the Engineering Chemical-Technological Center of Tomsk State University (ECHTC TSU) has commenced the production of sodium tartrate dihydrate. This facility is the only one in Russia capable of producing this crucial compound, and it can fully meet Russia's annual demand.

The journey towards this milestone began in 2010, with the development of the technology for obtaining sodium tartrate dihydrate (2-water sodium tartrate). This development was part of the comprehensive "Development of Electronic Machinery until 2030" program, supported financially by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The experimental setup at ECHTC TSU allows for the production of several hundred kilograms of chemically pure 2-water sodium tartrate per year. The facility, launched as part of the "Tetrat" project's third stage of work, is capable of producing this chemically pure compound.

Sodium tartrate dihydrate is essential for cleaning microelectronics components. It is used for cleaning electronic components before they are integrated into devices. The compound produced at ECHTC TSU has passed analytical testing, meeting strict requirements for ten key parameters, including the main substance's mass fraction, sulfate content, and water-insoluble substances.

The first company to integrate the Tomsk-produced tartrate into its production is "Svetlana-Electronpribor" from St. Petersburg. Prior to the launch of the ECHTC TSU facility, imports of tartrate into Russia had been halted.

The total investment in the project amounted to approximately 150 million rubles. The development and production of sodium tartrate dihydrate at ECHTC TSU are significant steps towards Russia's goal of self-sufficiency in the electronics industry.
