Russia’s Health Minister Warns Against Holiday Overeating and Excessive Drinking

Russia’s Health Minister has offered advice for New Year’s Eve celebrations. Mikhail Murashko urged citizens to avoid overeating and limit alcohol intake. His recommendations aim to keep festive meals healthier during the holidays.

Murashko suggested sticking to the principle of 'better to go without than overeat.' He advised people to eat slightly less rather than indulging too much. The minister also warned against heavy, fatty foods like fried dishes and sausages.

For drinks, he proposed a strict limit: no more than 100–150 grams of vodka per person. Instead of rich, greasy meals, he recommended lighter options. Fish, fresh vegetables, fruits, and salads were highlighted as better choices.

The guidelines focus on preventing health risks during celebrations. By cutting back on alcohol and heavy foods, the minister hopes to encourage safer festive habits. His advice comes as many prepare for New Year’s Eve gatherings.
