Saxony-Anhalt Approves €154M for Care Projects, Including €4M for Innovative Dementia Nursing Home
Saxony-Anhalt's 'Investments in Care and Living' program has approved 101 main applications, totalling 154 million euros. Notably, this includes a 4 million euro grant from the corona special fund to rebuild the evangelical nursing home 'Haus der Sinne' in Bismark.
The new nursing home will be a single-story, barrier-free octagonal building, designed to accommodate 20 residents with severe and very severe dementia. It features a visitor area that can double as an airlock during pandemics, separating residents from visitors. The innovative design includes a circular hallway for one-way routes during outbreaks, spacious common and dining areas, large windows and doors, and naturally ventilated bathrooms for improved hygiene.
The state's investment in 'Haus der Sinne' aims to provide modern, safe, and comfortable care for its residents. The new building's design focuses on accessibility, hygiene, and pandemic preparedness, reflecting Saxony-Anhalt's commitment to quality care.
