The accident occurred when Djibi was being towed on a water scooter, known locally as a "water sofa." A sudden fall sent him into the water, leaving his arm trapped in the boat's rope, almost severing it. "We narrowly avoided a tragedy today," Ferchichi wrote, expressing her immense relief. "One moment of fun, the next they're putting him in an ambulance and under anesthesia because he was in so much pain."
She implored parents to be vigilant, warning against such activities for kids. "This could happen to anyone. Please don't let your children do such things," she urged.
The frightening incident took place in Ras al Khaimah, a city in the United Arab Emirates, as Ferchichi had previously shared in a story. The family was vacationing there when the accident occurred.
On-site medical assistance was provided initially so that Djibi, lucky to have escaped with his life, could be transported to Dubai for specialized care. "I wouldn't wish something like this on anyone," the worried mother said, her sentiments echoing the gravity of the situation. "The incident taught me how quickly everything can change."
