Firstly, when it comes to dining outdoors, it's recommended to cook shashlik on coals using plastic containers. Perishable products such as eggs and salads with mayonnaise should be avoided. Food should be stored in a cooler bag, and vegetables and fruits should be washed with bottled water.

For those planning to cool off in water bodies, it's essential to stick to permitted areas for swimming. Water bodies not intended for swimming should be avoided to ensure safety.

To cope with the heat, Rospotrebnadzor advises avoiding fatty foods and shifting meals to morning and evening. The source of the water intake recommendation is Rospotrebnadzor, who suggests drinking at least 1.5 liters of water daily, excluding soda, alcohol, and sugary drinks.

In terms of clothing, choose loose-fitting, lightweight, and light-coloured clothes made from breathable fabrics like cotton, linen, or rayon. Regularly apply and reapply sunscreen and wear protective hats and sunglasses to prevent sunburn and heat-related skin damage.

Limit outdoor activity during peak heat, typically between 3–4 p.m., and plan rest breaks in the shade if you must be outside. Stay in cool environments by using air conditioning when available or seeking public cooling centers like libraries or malls. At home, keep blinds or drapes closed during the day to block heat and use ceiling fans for air circulation.

Minimise use of dishwashers, stoves, washers, and dryers during the hottest hours to reduce indoor heat buildup. Never leave anyone in a hot car, as cars can heat up rapidly, increasing the risk of life-threatening heat stroke.

Stay hydrated with cool, non-alcoholic fluids, and pace yourself and monitor others when engaging in physical exertion. If outdoors, have someone keep track of your condition and watch for signs of heat illness.
