A special hospital opened its doors in Bissendorf this week—but not for humans. The Teddy Bear Hospital invited young children to bring their plush companions for check-ups and treatment. Organised in the Osnabrück district, the main event aimed to make medical visits less scary for little ones.

Petra Schulte, the project’s initiator, set up the Teddy Bear Hospital to give children a hands-on way to understand medicine. Volunteers guided them through mock treatment rooms, where they helped weigh, measure, and bandage their stuffed animals. Each step was explained in simple, friendly language to keep things fun and stress-free.

The Teddy Bear Hospital gave children a playful way to engage with medicine. Through bandaging, weighing, and comforting their stuffed friends, they learned what to expect in a real clinic. The event also provided comfort to those facing upcoming treatments, turning fear into familiarity.
