Teenage girl supposedly enticed into sex trafficking via dating app, leading to indictment of ten individuals in the Bronx.
In a shocking turn of events, ten individuals, including nine men and one woman, have been accused of sex trafficking a 16-year-old girl in the Bronx, New York. The suspects, named in a 79-count indictment, include Tesean Green, Joshua Green, Evonne Green, Aaron Green, and others.
The alleged ordeal began when Tesean Green, aged 48, is said to have met the teen on the dating app Tagged in November 2022. Over the next 15 months, Green allegedly impersonated the teen online, arranged hundreds of 'dates' in New York and Atlantic City, drugged her before the encounters, and kept all of her earnings.
The girl, now receiving support from the Crime Victims Assistance Bureau, testified in a grand jury to expose her alleged traffickers and rapists. She was reportedly drugged with ecstasy, beaten severely, and forced to tattoo her trafficker's name on her face.
Joshua Green, aged 38 and Tesean Green's uncle, is accused of trafficking the teen and forcing her to sell crack cocaine. He pleaded not guilty in July and remains in custody after a judge reduced his bail.
Jamel Cameron, aged 30, and Brianna Jamison, aged 27, are defendants who allegedly advertised 'dates' with the teen on the commercial sex site MegaPersonals.com. They pleaded not guilty at their arraignments last December and remain in custody pending bail.
Six other defendants, including Luis Muicela, Dale Gordon, Jaquan Cherry, John Adebiyi, Richard Stanley, and Shandel Briggs, were accused of paying to have sex with the underage girl. They were released without bail. Stanley's attorney stated that his client had no role in the case and expects the charges to be dismissed. Attorneys for Muicela, Gordon, and Cherry could not be reached for comment. Adebiyi's attorney declined to comment.
Stanley, who faces charges such as sex trafficking of a child, promoting prostitution, rape, and criminal sexual act, is among the accused individuals. The Bronx DA's office announced that Tesean Green, previously incarcerated in New Jersey, will be arraigned on the Bronx charges at a later date.
The girl's harrowing journey serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing fight against human trafficking. As the case progresses, it is hoped that justice will be served, and the girl can move towards a better future.
