Two elderly devotees die at Rangpur Ijtema amid harsh weather

The Rangpur divisional Ijtema is currently taking place at the Amashu Kukrul area in ward no-4 of Rangpur city. Organised by the Biswa Ijtema Committee of Bangladesh, the event has drawn large crowds of devotees from across the region.

Tragedy struck the gathering on Thursday when two attendees passed away. Saidur Rahman, a resident of Pirganj upazila, and Tara Mia, from Tangail, both died due to complications linked to old age and cold-related illnesses.

The deaths highlight the challenges faced by elderly attendees in harsh weather conditions. Organisers continue to monitor the situation, ensuring medical support remains available for those in need.
