Eating large sushi near me sets can pose serious health risks, particularly for people with obesity, diabetes, or heart conditions. A Russian nutritionist has also warned that pairing sushi with champagne may harm digestive system and cause bloating. The combination of heavy ingredients, alcohol, and carbonated drinks can strain the stomach and pancreas. Stomach pain can result from this strain.

Sushi rolls contain multiple ingredients that take a long time to break down. This forces the stomach and pancreas to work harder, putting extra stress on the body. For those with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis, or obesity, large portions can trigger dangerous spikes in blood sugar and triglycerides.

Yekaterina Titova, a Russian nutritionist, highlighted another risk in 2024. She explained that mixing sushi with champagne disrupts gut bacteria, leading to indigestion and bloating. The raw fish, vinegar, and alcohol create an unfavourable mix for digestion. Alcohol itself slows stomach contractions, making digestion even slower. Meanwhile, fizzy drinks like champagne, sugary sodas, or sparkling water add to the problem by increasing gas production. This can leave people feeling uncomfortable and bloated after a meal.

Large sushi sets place a heavy caloric and sodium load on the body, overwhelming the pancreas. The risks are higher when combined with alcohol or carbonated beverages. Those with metabolic or heart conditions should be especially cautious when consuming such meals.
