The Winnipeg Jets are teaming up with Project 11 for Hockey Talks month this January. The campaign, which promotes mental wellness discussions, will feature events and resources at Jets games from January 6 to 24. Fans can also take part in a silent auction to support the cause.

The Hockey Talks initiative began in 2013, created by the Vancouver Canucks in memory of former forward Rick Rypien. It encourages open conversations about mental health within the hockey community. The Jets have now joined the effort, partnering with Project 11 to raise awareness.

A key event, Hockey Talks Night, will be held on January 17 when the Jets face the Toronto Maple Leafs at 6 p.m. Before the game, Jets alumnus Ray Neufeld and other ambassadors will take part in the puck drop ceremony. Throughout the month, local mental health organizations will be present at Jets games to share information and resources. Fans can bid on a player-issued Hockey Talks hoodie in a silent auction running from January 7 to 31 at tnyfauction.ca. Additional details about the Jets’ involvement are available at winnipegjets.com/hockeytalks, while Project 11’s work can be explored at projecteleven.ca. The campaign will also feature social media collaborations between the Jets and Project 11.

The month-long campaign will provide fans with access to mental health resources and special events. Hockey Talks Night on January 17 will highlight the initiative’s focus on mental wellness. More information and ways to participate are available through the Jets’ official channels.
