Woman found asleep at wheel after days of partying and drug use
A 22-year-old woman was discovered asleep at the wheel of her car in Euskirchen early on Monday. The incident occurred at a traffic light on Roitzheim Road, prompting a motorist to alert the police. Officers later confirmed she was under the influence of both alcohol and drugs.
The driver, from Weilerswist, had reportedly been partying for days without sleep. When police arrived, they found her still unconscious in the driver's seat.
A breathalyser test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.76 per mille—well above the legal limit. Further screening detected cocaine and amphetamines in her system. Authorities immediately confiscated her driver's licence. She now faces charges for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
The woman's licence remains revoked while legal proceedings continue. Police have not released further details about her condition or possible penalties. The case highlights the risks of impaired driving on public roads.
