Woman receives expired weight-loss pills from Ozon marketplace twice in a row

A woman in Nizhny Novgorod recently received expired weight-loss medication after ordering from Ozon marketplace. The product, Reduxin, arrived four months past its use-by date. This is not the first time she has encountered the same issue with the same drug.

The medication was sold at an unusually low price of 689 rubles ($7.50) for 30 capsules. At Maxavit pharmacies, the same quantity typically costs over 4,500 rubles ($50). The buyer had previously ordered Reduxin from the same platform and returned it due to an expired date.

The woman now warns other shoppers to check product details before collecting orders. She recommends using the Honest Sign app, especially for perishable items or medicines. No official reports from Rospotrebnadzor on similar cases involving Ozon in 2024 have been found in public records.

The incident highlights the risks of purchasing medication from online marketplaces without verification. Shoppers are advised to inspect expiration dates and use available tools to confirm product authenticity. The woman's experience serves as a reminder of the importance of caution when buying health-related items online.
