The image shows a group of children standing next to each other on a basketball court, each holding a paper bag in their hands. On the right side of the image, there are bags and other objects placed on the ground, and on the left side there is a board with some text on it. In the background, there is fencing, poles, street lights, electric poles with wires, trees, buildings, hills and the sky, suggesting that the children are participating in a program to help children with disabilities.

Zarinsk's Privet Squad Unites Generations Through Volunteerism and Tradition

A dedicated volunteer squad at Zarinsk School has spent three years working on a project that bridges generations through community service. Known as Privet, the group of 25 students from grades 4 to 11 focuses on preserving traditions while supporting those in need. Their efforts have earned them recognition in regional and national competitions.

The squad operates under the theme Preserving Traditions Through Mutual Support Across Generations. Each member has achieved the gold badge in Russia's GTO fitness programme, reflecting their commitment to physical and social responsibility. They organise morning exercise sessions, sports relays, and Health Days—often involving parents—to encourage active lifestyles.

Under the guidance of school psychologist Irina Yuryevna Veshnyakova, the volunteers lead *Kindness Lessons* for younger pupils. They also partner with the *Ecolyata* (Young Ecologists) initiative, where older students mentor juniors in event planning and communication with elderly residents. Through the *Kindness Mission* campaign, the squad helps pensioners by clearing snow, raking leaves, and assisting with small household tasks. Beyond local work, *Privet* collaborates with the *Women's Movement of United Russia* (Alapayevsk branch) to visit the Alapayevsk orphanage regularly. Currently, they are participating in the nationwide *For You, Our Loved Ones* campaign, gathering humanitarian aid for families of servicemembers involved in the special military operation. Their contributions have been recognised in competitions like *Our Homeland Begins With Us* and *Professionals of the Urals*. The squad remains an active participant in the *Common Cause – PRO* international contest, though broader regional participation data is not available.

The Privet squad continues to expand its community impact, linking students with elderly residents, orphanages, and military families. Their projects—from fitness drives to humanitarian aid—demonstrate a sustained effort to foster generational bonds and civic engagement. The group's work remains a visible example of youth-led volunteerism in Zarinsk and beyond.
