Zomato's Ritual takes on Swiggy with high-protein cloud kitchen launch

Zomato has entered the health food market with the launch of Ritual, a protein-focused cloud kitchen. The new brand arrives as competition grows between food delivery giants for health-conscious customers. Currently, Ritual is available in Bengaluru and parts of Mumbai, with a menu designed for fitness enthusiasts.

Ritual is a direct response to Swiggy's EatRight category, which targets the same audience. The new venture offers high-protein drinks, including plant-based shakes, whey protein shakes, and protein milkshakes. Alongside beverages, the menu includes salads aimed at consumers prioritising nutrition.

Zomato has partnered with **Massive Restaurants** to run the cloud kitchen operations. While Massive Restaurants manages the kitchen under its FSSAI licence, Zomato oversees the menu design and recipes. This collaboration comes as both Zomato and Swiggy push deeper into the mass-premium health food segment. Swiggy's **EatRight** category has expanded to major cities like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. In contrast, Ritual's rollout remains limited, focusing only on Bengaluru and select Mumbai locations for now.

The launch of Ritual marks Zomato's latest move to capture the growing demand for healthy food options. With Swiggy already expanding its EatRight category, the competition in this niche is set to intensify. For now, Ritual's reach stays confined to a few key areas, while its rival continues broader expansion.
