Drunk e-scooter rider crashes in Euskirchen with 1.4 per mille alcohol level

A traffic accident occurred in Euskirchen yesterday (March 26) at 11:30 p.m.

A 55-year-old man was riding an e-scooter along Kuchenheimer Straße when, for reasons still unclear, he lost control of the vehicle. The Euskirchen resident was injured in the fall and taken to a hospital by ambulance.

He admitted to consuming alcohol and drugs. A voluntary breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.4 per mille, while a preliminary drug screening returned positive for cocaine.

Authorities have prohibited the man from operating any vehicles.
