Free Pilates Session in Mönchengladbach Honors Joseph Pilates' Legacy

The Marketing Gesellschaft Mönchengladbach (MGMG), together with the International Pilates Heritage Congress, invites the public to a free outdoor Pilates session on the lawn behind the Kaiser-Friedrich-Halle this Sunday, May 3.

The class will be led by internationally acclaimed Pilates instructor Kathy Corey. The event is deliberately held in Mönchengladbach—the birthplace of Joseph Pilates—as a tribute by the local Pilates community to the movement teacher, born in 1883, whose method is now practiced worldwide.

"Pilates has always been about connecting body, mind, and spirit," says Kathy Corey. "Sharing this experience outdoors—and in Joseph Pilates' hometown—is both meaningful and inspiring."

The approximately one-hour session, running from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, is open to participants of all levels. It will feature a standing Pilates mat class, focusing on movement, breath, and body awareness. No prior experience or special equipment is required, though comfortable clothing and suitable footwear are recommended. Registration is not necessary, and participation is free. Afterward, attendees can unwind at the KFH beer garden, which will be open on May 3.
