Mario D. Richardt brings his media journey to Meiningen's literary festival

Born in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg in 1976 and a resident of Saxony since 1997, Mario D. Richardt began his television career at just ten years old, appearing as a child actor for East German TV and on stage.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he completed an apprenticeship as a painter and varnisher before returning to television. At 24, he won the Saxon Television Award for his self-created and hosted comedy show "Pommes mit Mario" ("Fries with Mario"). A year later, he became editor-in-chief of regional broadcaster Oberlausitz TV. Since 2001, he has been the face of MDR's hit show "Mach dich ran" ("Get Moving") and many other programs.
To date, he has hosted over 1,400 TV episodes. Since 2021, Richardt has also worked as a podcaster and podcast producer, specializing in health formats. In 2022, his podcast "kernig & gesund" ("Robust & Healthy") earned him the DGA Journalism Award in the "TV & Radio" category.
