Nizhny Novgorod Veterans' Home Receives Life-Changing Rehabilitation Gear

A care home for war and labour veterans in Nizhny Novgorod has received new rehabilitation equipment worth around 2.2 million rubles. The delivery, organised by the Memory of Generations charitable foundation, arrived just before Victory Day celebrations. The Nizhny Novgorod care home has been running since 1972 and currently supports 68 residents, many with limited mobility or disabilities. The newly supplied equipment includes modern medical beds with specialised mattresses and devices designed to train memory, attention, and reaction skills.

Yevgeny Smirnov, the home’s director, explained that the upgrades will improve patient care and help residents stay active. Vadim Tsyganov, Deputy Minister of Social Development, added that such initiatives directly enhance the quality of life for those living there. The handover ceremony was attended by regional officials and representatives from the charitable foundation. Alexey Antonov, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, highlighted the essential role of charitable organisations in supporting these projects. The upgrade also forms part of the national programmes *Family* and *Long and Active Life*.

The new equipment will now be put to use in the care home’s daily operations. Officials have confirmed that the investment aligns with broader efforts to improve living conditions for veterans and elderly residents. The foundation’s contribution ensures the facility can offer better rehabilitation and support.
