Vladivostok's Victory Day fitness tribute unites generations in remembrance

A patriotic fitness campaign took place in Vladivostok on Victory Day. Called Victory Record, the event brought together locals at Sukhanov Square to honour those who fought in the Great Patriotic War. Participants of all ages joined in exercises symbolising each day since the war’s end in 1945. The event saw adults and children taking part in sit-ups, push-ups, and kettlebell lifts. Groups of 18 people rotated on the exercise platform, ensuring everyone had a turn. Each participant could set their own pace, choosing how many repetitions to complete and taking breaks when necessary.

By the end of the day, the combined total reached 29,585 exercises—one for every day since 9 May 1945. The campaign blended physical activity with remembrance, creating a shared moment of reflection through collective effort.

The Victory Record initiative marked a unique way to pay tribute to wartime sacrifices. Through structured group exercises, participants connected the past with the present. The final count of 29,585 repetitions stood as a tangible symbol of the years since the war’s conclusion.
