Ringo Starr, born Richard Starkey on the 7th of July, 1940, in Liverpool, has had a remarkable career spanning over six decades. Starting as the drummer for the Liverpool band Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, he went on to become an integral part of the Beatles, and later, a successful solo artist.

In 1962, Starr joined the Beatles, replacing their original drummer Pete Best. His steady drum beat and charming personality quickly endeared him to the band and their fans. During the Beatles era, he sang lead vocals on several famous tracks, including "Boys," "Honey Don't," "Act Naturally," "Yellow Submarine," and "With a Little Help from My Friends."

After the Beatles disbanded in 1970, Starr embarked on a solo career. His first two unexpected early solo albums, *Sentimental Journey* (standards from the 1930s and '40s) and *Beaucoups of Blues* (country music), showcased his eclectic tastes. He had hit singles in the early 1970s, such as "It Don't Come Easy" and "Back Off Boogaloo."

Throughout his solo career, Starr worked on solo records with former Beatles members John Lennon and George Harrison. His commercial success was more modest over time, but he remained active with consistent releases and tours. In recent years, he formed and continues to perform with Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, a touring supergroup composed of various famous musicians.

In 2022, Starr released EPs such as *EP3* and *Rewind Forward*, and the single *Crooked Boy*. In January 2025, he released a new country album titled *Look Up*, produced and co-written by T Bone Burnett.

Starr's latest TV appearance was as a cartoon character on The Simpsons, where he kissed the late Marge Simpson. He also publicly supported Zak Starkey after his split from The Who, following Zak's dismissal from the band in May due to increasing tensions.

Starr's most successful album is "Ringo," with over 1.1 million units sold. Despite his past achievements, Starr continues to pursue his dream of being a drummer, proving that he is not just a man of the past, but a living piece of music history.
