A wedding in the UK nearly ended with the bride being rushed to hospital after drinking alcohol on an empty stomach, with paramedics forced to carry her out in her wedding dress. The incident was reported by The Sun.
The episode unfolded on April 3 during the wedding celebration of Danielle and Lewis Crowther. After the ceremony, the couple and 40 guests continued the festivities. At one point, Danielle, feeling exhausted, sat down beside her husband and suddenly lost consciousness.
Lewis tried to revive her but failed, prompting him to call an ambulance. The unconscious bride was carried to the paramedics' vehicle still in her wedding gown. After examining her, medics explained to the guests that she had simply drunk too much and passed out. Since her condition did not require hospitalization, she was taken home.
It later emerged that Danielle, overwhelmed by nerves, had not eaten before the wedding and had kept accepting alcoholic cocktails throughout the celebration. The combination of an empty stomach and excessive alcohol was what caused her sudden fainting spell.
Danielle herself, waking up the next day, initially felt embarrassed—but now believes the bizarre incident made the wedding even more memorable for everyone present.
