Moscow’s chief dietitian, Antonina Starodubova, recently shared guidance on how to enjoy cheese without overdoing it. Starodubova highlighted cheese as a valuable source of dairy fats, high-quality protein, and easily absorbed minerals. It provides calcium, phosphorus, and vitamins A and B2, all of which support general health. The product also contains essential amino acids like lysine, methionine, and tryptophan.

One of tryptophan’s key benefits is its role in serotonin production, which helps regulate mood. Moderate cheese intake may even contribute to emotional stability and lower the risk of burnout. However, its energy density and sodium content require careful consideration. Experts advise against daily consumption due to the high levels of saturated fat, salt, and calories. Instead, they recommend small portions—no more than 20 to 30 grams at a time. When eaten in this way, cheese can fit into a varied diet without negative effects.
