Reyli Barba's A Caballo marks a triumphant return after overcoming addiction

Mexican singer Reyli Barba has released his latest album, A Caballo, marking another milestone in his long career. The 54-year-old artist, who overcame alcoholism over a decade ago, now describes his life as one of freedom and strength. Alongside the album’s launch, he is set to perform at Mexico City’s National Auditorium on May 27. Barba’s new album, A Caballo, arrived on April 16, 2023. The record includes collaborations with well-known artists like Bacilos, Alfredo Olivas, Alexis Cristóbal, and Majo Aguilar. His return to music comes after years of personal struggles, including a battle with alcoholism that ended eleven years ago.

The singer has spoken openly about his past recklessness. At one point, he pushed his body to extremes, such as staying awake for 72 hours straight. He also admits to feeling unfulfilled between the ages of 38 and 40, calling that period of his life boring. Now, he no longer experiences the physical effects of alcohol and credits his recovery for his current well-being. Today, Barba embraces a healthier lifestyle, inspired by his grandparents, who lived nearly a century. With two granddaughters of his own, he hopes to follow their example and enjoy a long, active life. He describes his present state as a privileged place—one where he feels strong, content, and free from past burdens. His upcoming concert at the National Auditorium on Wednesday, May 27, will give fans a chance to hear the new album live. The performance follows years of transformation, both personally and professionally.

Reyli Barba’s A Caballo reflects his journey from self-destruction to stability. The album’s release and his scheduled concert highlight a career that continues to evolve. After overcoming addiction and embracing a healthier life, he now focuses on longevity, family, and his passion for music.
