Thuringia's 2026 Caregiver Week Offers Free Support and Hybrid Events

The annual 'Thuringia Week for Family Caregivers' will take place from June 1 to 7, 2026. As part of the event, the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district is hosting a special action day on June 4, offering free support and consultations for caregivers and those in need of assistance. The action day runs from 9 AM to 4 PM in the assembly hall of the district administration office in Meiningen. All activities, including lectures and consultations, will be available as hybrid events, allowing online participation. Those wishing to attend virtually must register by May 29, 2026.

The Care Support Center will provide free consultations on care-related issues for all visitors. Appointments can be booked in advance by phone or email. No fees apply for any of the services offered during the day. Thuringia is home to around 300,000 family caregivers who support approximately 190,000 people requiring care. The week-long initiative aims to provide resources and recognition for their work. Further details on additional events can be found on the official website.

The action day offers free access to expert advice and hybrid lectures. Online registration closes on May 29, while in-person attendance requires no prior booking. The event is part of a broader effort to assist caregivers across the region.
