Marbella's upcoming sleep session reveals how rest transforms health
A new health session on sleep will take place in Marbella later this month. 'The facts about sleep and your health' aims to explain how rest affects the body and mind. The event will run on May 22, from 1pm to 3pm, at The Pool in Marbella.
Dr. Laura Rodriguez Alcala, an ENT surgeon and Sleep Medicine specialist, will lead the session. She will discuss how sleep impacts body repair, brain function, and metabolism. Attendees will also receive practical advice on improving their rest.
Iris Arbel, CEO of Saboris, will host the afternoon. The organisers have designed the event to be calm and relaxed, encouraging comfortable clothing. Tickets cost €24 per person. Research shows that most adults sleep less than seven hours a night. Only half report feeling properly rested on most days. Those sleeping fewer than six hours face a 10% higher mortality risk compared to people getting seven to nine hours. Long-term sleep deprivation has also been linked to obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.
The session offers a chance to learn about sleep’s role in overall health. Anyone interested in attending can book tickets or find more details on The Pool Marbella’s website.
